Climate Change
Building climate understanding, reducing polarisation, and empowering action
At People For Nature, we believe that meaningful climate action begins with understanding. Climate change affects every sector of society, every business, and every community - yet many Australians still feel overwhelmed, disengaged, or divided by the conversation.
Our work focuses on building science-based climate literacy, creating space for constructive dialogue, and helping people move from concern to informed action. By combining rigorous science with engaging, participatory learning, we aim to strengthen both individual agency and democratic debate around climate solutions.
Our Flagship Programme: Climate Fresk
WE ARE THE OFFICIAL COUNTRY PARTNER OF CLIMATE FRESK IN AUSTRALIA.

Climate Fresk is a collaborative, game-based workshop built on the findings of the first Working Group of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).
Participants work together to connect the causes, mechanisms, and consequences of climate change, developing a shared understanding of the science in just a few hours.
The objectives are to:
Spread accessible, science-based climate knowledge across Australia
Reduce polarisation by creating a shared factual foundation
Encourage respectful, informed discussion
Strengthen participants’ sense of agency and capacity to act
Climate Literacy in Action
Rather than telling people what to think or do, Climate Fresk helps participants understand the system, empowering them to make their own informed decisions.
Short on Time?
Understanding Climate Science in a Record Time
Climate Pitch - 60 Mins

A dynamic 60-minute session summarising the key scientific insights from the IPCC's first Working Group.
Climate Pitch provides a clear and engaging overview of climate science, helping audiences quickly grasp the mechanisms behind climate change and the scale of the challenge.
Our Approach
Our methodology recognises that information alone does not lead to change. Effective climate education engages three dimensions:

Head - Understanding
Participants build a clear, science-based understanding of climate systems and impacts.

Heart - Connection
Workshops create space for emotions, discussion, and shared reflection, helping people move beyond fear or disengagement.

Hand - Action
Participants leave with a clearer sense of what action looks like in their professional and personal contexts.
This approach helps transform climate change from an abstract problem into a shared societal challenge that people feel capable of addressing together.
Who we work with:
Climate literacy is relevant across sectors. Our programmes are designed to be accessible and applicable to:
- Businesses and corporate teams
- Universities and students
- Schools and educators
- Local governments and institutions
- Community groups and the general public
