Co-founded by The Matcha Initiative and The Transmutation Principle, AlterCOP Summits run alongside the UN’s Conference of the Parties (COP) aiming to keep corporations and the public informed of COP proceedings and outcomes, facilitate discussion and knowledge sharing, foster collaboration, and inspire action.
Free and inclusive, AlterCOP Australia is a grassroots climate summit that brings together diverse communities to explore and act on climate justice, decarbonisation, and resilience, offering an inclusive, science-based platform for localised climate action.

Advancing the Green Zone Vision
🌿 AlterCOP30 Australia is positioned to be a recognised part of the Australian Pavilion in the Green Zone at UN Climate Change Conferences of the Parties (COPs).
The Green Zone is a space set aside for civil society, youth groups, Indigenous communities, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), businesses, academics, and the general public to engage with climate action in creative, accessible, and participatory ways.

While world leaders gather in Belém for official negotiations, we’re making sure climate action takes centre-stage locally in Brisbane and around Australia.
Through AlterCOP 30, we’re creating a local experience that:
✅ Includes diverse voices — from youth to First Nations leaders, local communities, and grassroots changemakers.
✅ Shares climate solutions through storytelling, art, technology, education, and lived experience.
✅ Fosters dialogue across sectors, generations, and borders.
We’re proud to help activate a community-powered space that builds engagement, showcases real solutions, and connects Australians to the global climate conversation.
