Biodiversity
Understanding the living systems that support our economy, communities, and future
At People For Nature, we believe that biodiversity is one of the most important — and least understood — foundations of our lives. From food systems and water cycles to climate regulation and economic stability, human wellbeing depends on healthy ecosystems.
Yet biodiversity loss remains invisible to many people and organisations. Our work focuses on building biodiversity literacy, helping people understand how living systems function, why they are declining, and how collective action can restore and protect nature
Our Flagship Programme: Biodiveristy Collage
WE ARE THE OFFICIAL COUNTRY PARTNER OF BIODIVERSITY COLLAGE IN AUSTRALIA.

We deliver the Biodiversity Collage in Australia in partnership with La Fresque de la Biodiversité, bringing a globally recognised biodiversity education movement born in France to Australian audiences.
Biodiversity Collage is a collaborative, science-based workshop that enables participants to understand the complexity of ecosystems and the drivers behind biodiversity loss. Through collective intelligence and facilitated discussion, participants explore the links between human activities and the degradation of living systems.
The workshop helps participants:
Understand what biodiversity really means beyond species loss
Discover how ecosystems function and why they are interconnected
Identify the main pressures driving biodiversity decline
Recognise the links between biodiversity, climate, and economic systems
Develop a shared understanding that supports informed action
Rather than overwhelming participants with data, Biodiversity Collage creates a space for learning, dialogue, and reflection, helping people reconnect with nature through understanding.

Biodiveristy Literacy in Action
Alongside Biodiversity Collage, we offer complementary engagement formats designed to introduce biodiversity concepts in accessible and engaging ways.
Short on time?
Interactive Biodiversity Activities
Short, engaging formats suitable for public events, festivals, and community gatherings.
These activities introduce key concepts such as ecosystem interdependence, habitat loss, and nature-based solutions in a way that sparks curiosity and conversation.
Our Approach
Our methodology recognises that information alone does not lead to change. Effective biodiversity engages three dimensions:

Head - Understanding
Participants build a systems understanding of resource use, waste, regeneration, and the limits of the linear economic model.

Heart - Connection
Workshops create space to explore values, responsibility, and the relationship between economy, nature, and community.

Hand - Action
Participants identify practical opportunities to redesign, reduce waste, extend product life, and support regenerative outcomes in their own contexts.
This approach helps transform biodiversity from an abstract problem into a shared societal challenge that people feel capable of addressing together.
Who we work with:
Biodiversity concerns everyone. Our programmes are designed to be accessible across sectors, and we work with:
- The general public and community groups
- Universities and students
- Schools and educators
- Businesses and corporate teams
- Local governments and institutions

Rebuilding our relationship with nature
Protecting biodiversity requires informed citizens, engaged organisations, and communities that understand their dependence on living systems.
Our goal is simple: to make biodiversity understandable, accessible, and actionable for everyone - because protecting nature begins with understanding it.
